Staying off the ballot (for now)

If you read my last post about a website I definitely could not show you, good news: this one is safe for work.

I recently designed a new website for Stephen Johns, who is running for Nanaimo City Council.

And in keeping with the theme from my last post: Pye Design remains a judgment-free business. Apparently that extends to politics, too. 😉

After deciding not to run for Council myself this year, I’ve found a much less stressful way to scratch that civic-engagement itch: live vicariously through someone who is running while I stay safely on the design side of things.

So instead of knocking on doors, debating policy, or putting my own name on a ballot, I got to do what I actually love…take someone’s ideas, personality and priorities and turn them into a clear, approachable online presence.

Much better for my blood pressure.

Different client. Very different browser history. Same philosophy: good design starts with listening, understanding who someone is and what they’re trying to communicate — and helping them do it well.

And this time, I even get to show you the website.
