Getting Social

I haven’t written a blog post in a hot minute, but I was feeling inspired.

I help companies with their social media. What does that actually mean? It doesn’t always mean creating graphics or scheduling posts. Social media, across all platforms, is a space that should be thoughtfully curated to express your brand’s voice in a digital world.

So how do we do that? Here are a few tips.

  1. Always have the same person writing your copy.
Voice consistency is everything. Whether it’s Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, or beyond, a consistent tone and point of view helps people recognize your brand. Over time, that familiarity builds trust and connection.

  2. Keep SEO top of mind.
Search engine optimization isn’t just for websites. Social platforms are search engines in their own right. Using relevant keywords and phrases in captions, posts, and descriptions helps your content get discovered. Strong SEO improves visibility, reach, and engagement, and can drive meaningful traffic. Take time to research what your audience is searching for and weave that language naturally into your content.

  3. Don’t create a wall of text.
My eyes glaze over when I see long paragraphs of text.

    Then I get tired.

    And I keep scrolling.

People do read long things online.

They just read them when the content is well structured, spaced out, and easy to digest.

  4. Be intentional with links.
Not every platform handles links the same way (looking at you, Instagram). Some allow clickable links, some don’t, and some prioritize them in specific places. Know the rules of each platform and guide people clearly, whether that’s directing them to a bio link, a story sticker link, a pinned post, or a call-to-action like “learn more” or “read more.”

  5. Use multi-image posts and series, but don’t overdo it.
Carousels, albums, and post series work best when they start with a strong, curiosity-driven hook and stick to one clear idea at a time. Aim for 3–5 slides for optimal engagement, ensuring a consistent brand feel throughout. A little restraint goes a long way.

Hope that helps.
And as always, feel free to reach out if you have thoughts or questions.
